The East Central Junior College Warriors triumphed 13-2 over the Southern Division top ranked Gulf Coast Bulldogs Saturday night at Gulf Coast. A blend of running, passi ng, and a rugged defensive effort limited the Gulf Coast team to two poin– ts. Scoring in the second quarter for the ECJC Warriors, David Gallaspy, a 202 lb. wide receiver from Decatur, caught a pass in the end zone from quarterback Stacy Powell. Luke Parks, 215 b. center from Naniah Waiya,

kicked the extra point. In the third quarter AI Walker, 197 lb. running back from Newton, scored on a five yard run. The extra point was missed. A total of 285 yards of offense gained with II first downs. Defense was really the name of the game as the Warrior defense stiffened and held the highly regarded Bulldogs to a 2 point safety. Linebacker Arthur McMullan had five solo tackles, five assists, one interception and blocked one field goal attempt.

Wayne Sutter had seven solo tackles, four assists and one in– terception, while Thomas Russell of Thomastown had eight solo tackles, seven assists and II sacks. Saturday night at Warrior Stadium the ECJC Warriors will host the Northeast Junior College Tigers for their second homegame of the season.
