vSim for Nursing has been produced in collaboration with Laerdal as part of the ‘Learning for Saving Lives’ alliance. The goal of this alliance is to create seamless curriculum integration solutions which incorporate simulation and bridge the gap between education and practice. The virtual patients in vSim for Nursing can also be found in NLN Volume 1 Laerdal scenarios. This allows educators to prepare their students for classroom scenarios and debrief or review simulation actitivty when the lab scenario had been conducted.

What’s included in vSim for Nursing ? vSim for Nursing includes ten virtual simulation patients integrated with curriculum resources to allow students to practice patient-centred care in an online clinical environment. These patient scenarios include: • An interactive interface for student-led experience • A personalised feedback log resulting from “graded” student interactions with patient scenarios • Curriculum resources, including:

vSim Instructor Resources for implementation into the course include: • Scenario Overviews including learning objectives and case summaries • Competency maps to industry standards such as IPEC, NCLEX and QSEN, and lesson plans for associated textbooks.
