FY 2016-17 and 2017-18 Accomplishments • Developed an all-inclusive response to dynamic crime trends based on analytical data Intelligence, with the overall goal of interrupting crime trends and patterns • Achieved a 74% Clearance Rate for Part 1 Violent Crimes (Pacific Region is 47.5%) and a 16% Clearance Rate for Part 1 Property Crimes (Pacific Region is 13.6%) • Detectives assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration and SCCSET Task Forces worked major cases involving the seizure of 5lbs of Heroin and 10 pounds of Methamphetamine and seized numerous guns and over $650,000 in cash • Developed a Hotel Ordinance to alleviate chronic crime trends • Graffiti abatement totaled clean-up of 931 incidents of graffiti in 2017 and we achieved our graffiti abatement goal of cleaning up all graffiti within 48 hours • Domestic Violence Detective worked on 138 DV Cases, 28 outside of our jurisdiction related to the Family Justice Center • Domestic Violence Detective provided 21 separate trainings related to Domestic Violence to Community groups and other law enforcement agencies • Hosted 18 Neighborhood Watch meetings, 1 Citizen Police Academy, and 1 Parent Project Class instructed by the School Resource Officer • Developed school site Safety Teams and Threat Assessment Teams at all schools and instructed the high school traffic class • Reinstated the Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU) FY 2018-19 and 2019-20 Activity Goals • Present two Parent Project Classes per year (Community Engagement and Messaging, Supporting Our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community) • Develop a Retailer Managers monthly meeting (Community Engagement and Messaging) • Increase the number of residential and commercial cameras that MHPD has access to in times of crime and investigation (Enhancing Public Safety) • Continue to conduct Active Shooter training based on revised county-wide protocol to the community (Enhancing Public Safety) • Graffiti abatement within 48 hours of notification (Protecting the Environment, Preserving and Cultivating Public Trust) • Continue to participate in Regional Task Force SCCSET and RATTF (Fostering a Positive Organizational Culture, Regional Initiatives, Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) • Continue to provide SRO and look for opportunities to add a second SRO (Enhancing Public Safety, Supporting Our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community, Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility)
