FC LIFE SUMMER JUNE EDITION 2018

JANUARY 2017 JUNE SUMMER EDITION

A PUBLICATION ABOUT LIFE AT FRENCHMAN’S CREEK BY, FOR AND ABOUT OUR MEMBERS

SUSAN DAVIS had a hole-in-one on Monday, May 28, 2018 on number 5 of the South Course. It played at 88 yards and she used an 8 iron.

The Homefront column is designed to inform our members where in the community our new residents are living and other residences they may have. It also keeps up with our present members who have stayed in the community but moved to new dwellings. Of course we always wish our members who are moving out of the community good luck wherever their travels take them and our new members and established members good luck in their new address.

This month we welcome:

BONNIE APPEL SHYER and HENRY SHYER who bought the estate of Mrs. Koenigsberg’s house on Rivoli Drive. They also reside in Port Chester, New York.

JOAN and MICHAEL SCLAR purchased Nan Reiner’s house on Parc Drive. They also live in Newton, Masachusetts.

NAN REINER moved her address to Degas Drive West, the former home of Dee Weisberg.

SUMMERTIME AT FRENCHMAN’S CREEK

Mark H. Hurd, Frenchman’s Creek Life

Ah summer! The days are longer, the sun is hotter, the grill is smokin’, the cocktails are

fruitier, and the snowbirds have flown away! This is the time of the year when full time

Frenchman’s Creek residents relax and enjoy our beautiful club and all of its amenities and

facilities without long lines or long waits. And this summer there is very little construction

going on at the clubhouse proper so that is a plus.

It’s easier to get around town as the roads are less congested. No need to call your

favorite eatery weeks ahead, the crowd is gone. Plus many establishments offer early bird

specials this time of year. And golfers find it easier to get that perfect tee time. Classes in the

fitness center and at the pool are less crowded too. And there are some stretch classes at the

fitness center that are free!

The sunrises and sunsets are magical with their hues ranging from red-orange to

blue-purple all in perfect harmony. An afternoon rain

shower passes through the neighborhood while the

nights are filled with warmth and a cool breeze.

All in all, summer is great here at Frenchman’s Creek. But needless to say, we do miss

seeing many of our close friends that have gone away for the hotter months. So when

October arrives, we are all very happy that the snowbirds have returned and a new season

of fun and activities begin again at Frenchman’s Creek.

Parking is not a problem at the 19th Hole during this time of the year

Golf Cart Paths Get Re-Worked During the Summer.

Many Landscaping and Grounds Beautification Projects are Underway.

Each of the Golf Courses Get a Total Makeover during the summer here at Frenchman’s. They get clipped and groomed so that they are Lush and Green For the Season.
