Olai Kirke (St. Olai Church), founded around 1200, completed in 1480-1521, and Set. Maria Kirke, (Church o f St. Mary), which constitutcs the Southern wing o f the beautiful, well preserved Karme­ literkloster, (Carmelitc monastery), with the common room in the easern wing and the refeetory in the northern wing. The beautiful, rectangular courtyard is surrounded by colonnades. Part o f the municipal museum is now in the western wing o f the monastery, open 10 a.m .- 4 p.m., cntrance fce 50 øre. Marienlyst Slot, (Marienlyst Castle), built around 1770 in Louis Scize style with the municipal museum, open 1 p. m.-3 p. m., no entrance fee. In the park the “ grave o f Hamlet” , by professor Utzon-Frank, as well as the original o f the' statue of “ Holger Danske” (a legendary figurc) in the casemates o f Kronborg Castle, made by Dan Petersen. North east of the town, 011 the farthest end o f a small penninsula, the beautiful old Kronborg Castle is situated. This imposing budding has been erectcd by King Frederik II in the years 1574-1585, in rcnaissance style. The castle is surrounded by moats. Specially interesting are the 63 meter long cavaliers’ hall, the chapcl with its splcndour, and the casemates. In the deepest casemates the statue o f the slecping Holger Danske. From the tower a splendid view. Handels- og Søfartsmuseet, (Trade and Shipping Museum), founded in 1915, on the 2nd floor, illustratcs the development o f Danish trade, shipping and shipbuilding, the Danish navy, also collections o f nautidal instruments and maps, Apart from the cavaliers’ hall already mentioned the castle contains on the third floor a number o f minor halls with picturcs from the i6th century.
