GOAL OF PROGRAM: "Faith without works is dead." - James 2:26 LeaderworX is largely based on this verse. Our program strives to bring together faith and works, or as we like to say "worX." We do this by offering an integrated experience of prayer, active service, communal living, social justice education, ministry training, and leadership development all in one incredible summer. Our program provides an opportunity to explore the relationship between faith and justice, build community, and minister to youth. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of leaders by creating programs that educate for justice in the Catholic tradition. TYPE OF PLACEMENT: Service site placements will vary week to week, but previous projects have included serving in soup kitchens and food pantries, urban revitalization/community gardening, elderly outreach, ecological restoration, day care/summer camps for urban youth, manual labor/light construction, and day programs for people with mental disabilities
