GOAL OF PROGRAM: In the Spirit of our Foundress Venerable Nano Nagle, we welcome women to come and share with us our Presentation Charism seeking to promote hope, justice, freedom, and human dignity to all we meet through our many and varied ministries. Presentation Sisters today bring a unique energy and dedication to the ministries of education, pastoral work, health care, and social services. Striving to deepen their relationship with God and grow in personal commitment to serve, volunteers will live and pray in community, and reflect on their ministerial service in light of Gospel values with Presentation Sisters and Associates. TYPE OF PLACEMENT: We try to match our volunteers' gifts and interests with the needs in our area. Some types of placements include education, health and pastoral care, and direct and indirect service with the poor. AREA OF SERVICE: Long-term: Newburgh, NY. Short-term: Newburgh, NY, and New York City area, Leominster and Fitchburg, MA. LENGTH OF SERVICE: Long-term: 10 months, from September to June. Short-term: Opportunities are ongoing from one week to three months, summer vacation, and/or alternative winter and spring breaks. REQUIREMENTS: Long-term: We welcome women who are open- minded, who desire to grow in relationship with God while living in community and who have or want to cultivate a serving heart. Our long-term volunteer program is open to single women age 21-50 with no dependents. Short-term: Our short-term alternative spring break and summer service and outreach program is open to single women age 18+ with no dependents. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS: Long-term: Room and board, small stipend and medical insurance. Short-term volunteers receive room and board. LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Long-term and short-term volunteers live in community with Sisters and other volunteers as the situation allows. SIZE OF PROGRAM: 4-8 Volunteers TRAINING: Long-term and short term programs provide orientation, onsite training, and ongoing supervision. Ongoing spiritual and personal growth, retreats, and days of prayer. Spiritual Direction is also available.

TRAINING: Orientation to mission and vision of PHJC Sisters; on-site orientation to local community of Sisters and service site at beginning of experience. Program includes personal and spiritual growth. TYPE OF PLACEMENT: Our volunteers serve at: Bishop Sullivan Center- You can assist people in their efforts to secure employment, provide for their families, and secure a brighter future. You would have the opportunity to gain experience in social work and volunteer management. KC CARE Clinic- You can work with health care professionals in service to patients who are not able to afford health insurance. If you are interested in learning about the health care profession and have a passion for caring for the sick you would find KC CARE Clinic a great place to serve. Cristo Rey High School - If you have an interest in Catholic education this is a fantastic placement. Cristo Rey can use a volunteer who wants to work with high school students and is open to anyone with a college degree. Volunteers with training in STEM fields are given highest priority for this placement. Legal Aid of Western Missouri- Work as part of a team with lawyers and paralegals advocating on behalf of people living in public housing in Kansas City, Missouri. Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation in Chicago, Illinois- You will be working with people in a community affected by violence , and reaching out in mission to the wider Church, working for healing and reconciliation in both. Occasional placements available at St. Paul's Catholic Church on the Navajo Nation and in parish ministry in St. Joseph and Sedalia, Mo. AREA OF SERVICE: Kansas City, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois LENGTH OF SERVICE: Precious Blood Volunteers commit to six months to one year of service with a possibility of a second year. REQUIREMENTS: Precious Blood Volunteers are people over the age of 18 who have a desire to grow in their faith while serving people living in poverty. Preference is given to candidates who have training or education that matches with the needs of our placements. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS: Precious Blood Volunteers are provided an education award, housing, meals, a living allowance, health insurance, transportation reimbursements and assistance in obtaining student loan deferments. LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Precious Blood Volunteers have a fully furnished private bedroom and live in community with other volunteers and Precious Blood priests, brothers, or sisters. You will share meals, prayer, and friendship with members of the Precious Blood community throughout your service experience. SIZE OF PROGRAM: 3-10 volunteers per year. TRAINING: We have a one week orientation to the program and is followed up with orientation at your service placement, a mid-year retreat, monthly spirituality/justice nights and other community gatherings. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Preference is given to applications received before March 15. After March 15 applications are accepted on a rolling basis depending on our open available positions.
