10 Matt Altmyer returns for his second and final year after transferring to USD from Ricks Co llege for the 1998 season ... last season finished eighth on the team in tackles with 29 ... tallied 4 tackles for loss (-29 yards) and added I quarterback sack (-13 yards) ... added I interception (Yale), I pass breakup, 4 quarterback hurries, and I fumble recovery ... in opener at Azusa Pacific tallied 9 tackles with I fumble recovery ... prior to USD played two years at Ricks College in Utah where he was team captain for the two-time national champions ... prepped at Alta Loma High School where he lettered in footbal l, wrestling and track ... was A ll-l. A. Times and Al l-Inl and Empire ... served a two– year LDS mission in Fort Wo1ih, Texas ... Major: Communications; Minor: Business. in football where he was an All-Conference receiver and honorable mention linebacker ... he also lettered in track where he was a state qualifier in the 400 ... the recipient of a Dean's Scholarship, Dave has made the Dean's List each year at USD ... chose USD for its football program, academic reputation and great location ... also recruited by Saint Mary's College, Co lorado School of Mines and Columbia University .. . Major: Business Administration ; Minor: Computer Science. Brandon Camacho is back for his third season, and for the second straight year
will compete for starting time on the Torero defensive line at nose guard .. . prior to USD he prepped at Arrowhead Christian Academy in San Bernardino where he was a two-time All-C lF performer and team captain ... he helped lead his Eagles to two CIF titles, going David Barlow #80 SR WR 11-3 his senior year and 14-0 his junior campaign ... he also lettered in baseball ... recruited by Redlands and Wheaton,
he chose USD for its quality education and football program.

Matt Craig returns for his third year with the Toreros, and his second season at defensive line -- he started 7 games at tightend in 1998 ... last season he tallied 27 tackles with 3 quarterback sacks (-16 yards) and 5 tackles for loss (-23), to go with I blocked kick ... season bests of 6 tackles twice (Valpo & Drake) ... prior to USD he prepped at St. Bernard High School in the Humboldt-Del Norte League ... team was CIF State runner-
Brandon Camacho #50 JR DL
up three straight years ('95 , '96, '97) ... junior year team went I0-2 and earned a state ranking of No. 9 ... senior year was All-County Offensive Tackle and Outside Linebacker after finishing second on the team in tackles ...junior year was team Offensive Lineman ofthe Year and earned All-County Honorable Mention honors at right tackle ... besides football , also lettered in go lf where he was selected the team captain ... chose USD for educational opportunities and football ... also recruited by Air Force, Colorado School of Mines and Pomona Pitzer ... Major: Industrial Engineering.

Jason DeMello returns for his third season as a defensive back ... he earned a
starting spot last season and responded with 21 tackles, 3 interceptions and 4 pass breakups ... during his freshman campaign he tallied 6 tackles in five appearances ... Jason came to USD from Kaneohe, Hawaii where he prepped at Kamehameha Secondary Schools ... he was an All-State Ist Team defensive back with the team going 11-2 during his sen ior year ... he was selected Honorable Mention his junior season with the team going I0-2 ... he also lettered in track & field where he was All-State and finished 4th in the I00 meter race in the state finals ...

Scott Felber returns for his fourth and final campaign with the Torero football team ... he will again compete for playing time with the offensive line unit ... the past two seasons he has been the recipient of the team's Dr. James 8. Orwig Scholar-Athlete of the
Year award ... he has also managed to make First Honors Dean's List ... recruited by Menlo College and Occidental Co llege, Scott chose USD for its football program, academic reputation and location ... prior to USD he prepped at Orestimba High School where he was All-Southern League his senior year, and a two-time se lection for the Academic All-League team and Coaches Award ... team won 7 games in each of his last two seasons ... also lettered in basketball and baseball -- in baseball earned Most Improved, Coaches Award and team captain.
