With the establishment of Common Core Standards in most of the United States, the need for more rigor in both preschool and kindergarten demands a play- ful, physical and multisensory approach and curriculum in order for young children to thrive. Because of the demands of more challenging reading, spelling, and writing in kindergarten, Zoo-phonics HIGHLY recommends that all kin- dergarten and first grade teachers take both the Part I Comprehensive Workshop and the Part II Advanced Phonics Workshop . Our Zoo-phonics Comprehensive Workshop , Advanced Phonics Workshop , and our Make and Take Workshop addresses the needs of all of the children in your classroom, encourag- ing a love of reading, spelling and writing and the development of confidence and empowerment of children. All of our workshops reflect the playful and physical curriculum and methodology of the Zoo-phonics Multisensory Language Arts Program. The Comprehensive Workshop is recom- mended for teachers of toddlers/preschool, Head Start, Kindergarten, First Grade, all ages of ESL, Special Education, and up. It is a prerequisite for the Advanced Workshop. It teaches: our Animal Letter Characters of both alphabets: their shapes, sounds and body Signals, Allitera- tive Animal Names, and scientific infor- mation for each Animal; initial, ending and medial sounds in VC/CVC words;
