New   Vietnam Family Journey TOURING · HIKING | 10 DAYS · CUSTOM

We uncover Hanoi’s vast cultural bounty, admir- ing French colonial architecture, learning about water puppetry, and wandering the Old Quarter’s vendor-lined alleyways, before venturing to Pu Luong. In this little- visited region blessed with spectacular mountains, tropical forests, terraced fields, and lazy rivers turning bamboo waterwheels, we stop at the homes of fishermen, who teach us their time-honored techniques, and hike across verdant hillsides to isolated villages. We move on to the magnificently preserved old port town of Hoi An, a graceful backwater complete with hump-backed bridges and shops bursting with silks and paintings, and explore Ho Chi Minh City—partly by Vespa— soaking up its boundless energy. Hands-on experiences are spread throughout, like a chef-led cooking class, sensory market tours, bamboo rafting, and lantern and lacquerware workshops. Exten- sions to the emerald waters of Halong Bay and/or the pristine Con Dao Islands are also available to round out this family foray.

I n Vietnam, the interplay of ancient and modern ignites the imagination. Farmers pick rice in the same ter- raced paddies as their ancestors, while city streets sparkle with upscale restaurants and soaring skyscrapers. This resilient and vivacious country abounds with exceptional sights and experiences, setting the scene for an enlighten- ing, enriching, and fun family adventure.

Adventure is the realism of the marvelous.
