Kenya  ESSENCE OF A CONTINENT SAFARI | 12 DAYS · CUSTOM

O ur meticulously crafted Essence of a Continent joyfully exhibits what Shakespeare called “Africa’s golden joys,” taking us off the too-trod path to some of the country’s finest and vastest wildlife reserves. We begin in the south, flying from Nairobi to Hemingway’s Green Hills of Africa, the Chyulu, for two nights at the incomparable Campi ya Kanzi, gazing out at nearby Kilimanjaro as we game view and hike in the Chyulu’s mystically entrancing cloud forest. Next we fly from ya Kanzi to the Masai Mara—the Serengeti’s northern component—and the lovely Serian Camp, one of East Africa’s supreme permanent tented camps, for another experience of the country’s essence; we peacefully track game with Maasai guides (getting to know these amazing folk) and enjoy sun- downers in camp, listening for the thunder-clap roar of lions in the bush. Winging our way to the Mathews Range, we spend two nights at Sarara, a captivating conservation-oriented camp in the realm of leopard, reticulated giraffe, elephant, and kudu. We end with a leisurely three days in the Northern Frontier District, an extraordinarily wildlife-rich area in the shadow of peacockish Mount Kenya.
