Treasures of Zambia SAFARI | 9 DAYS · CUSTOM

Z ambia is often described as a safari-lover’s safari, as the place for walking safaris, as Africa 30 years ago, but we believe that Zambia stands alone as a premier safari desti- nation. Consider some of its gifts: Victoria Falls needs no introduction. South Luangwa National Park saw the birth of the walking safari, and its guides and walking camps remain matchless. Luangwa Valley lives up to its nickname, “The Valley of the Leopard.” The Zambezi River is a geo- graphic marvel. And Zambia’s sustainably grown tourism, with a commitment to reconnection without compromise, nourishes the spirit. Our handcrafted Zambia adventure combines walking safaris with game drives, canoe trips and river cruises, sun rise fishing excursions, and wonderfully charming camps and lodges to bring you one of the most diverse—and tourist- free—safaris on the continent. We begin at the arresting end of the Great Rift Valley in the South Luangwa Valley, where spectacular savannahs and floodplains host huge concentrations of game, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and more than 400 bird species. On foot, our encounters with the landscape and its inhabitants, from swooping ruby bee-eaters to lagoon-lounging hippos, are especially

intimate. Continuing to Lower Zambezi National Park, we weave through stately stands of baobabs and gently paddle canoes while watching for big cats, fish eagles, island-hopping buffalo, and the enormous elephant herds that frequent the river’s edge. Our optional extensions explore Livingstone (with Vic Falls by helicopter and visits to private islands on the Zambezi) and Kafue National Park (focusing on the wildlife-rich Busanga Plains, an awe-inspiring wilderness and one of Zambia’s most significant wetland resources).
