MR- THOMAS J. MARRON, Solicitor, died on the llth February, 1939, at his residence, 50 Northumberland Road, Dublin. Mr. Marron was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1883, and practised at Newry up to 1893, when he was appointed Clerk of the Crown and Peace for County Armagh, which position he occupied up to the time of his death. MR. ALBERT E. DAVIS, Solicitor, died on the 24th February, 1939, at his residence, Rus-in-Urbe, Lower Glenageary Road, Dun Laoghaire. Mr. Davis serve_d his apprenticeship with the late Mr. George Collins, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1912, and practised at 18 Kildare Street, Dublin up to 1936, when he retired. EXAMINATION RESULTS. At Examinations held on 10th and llth February under the Legal Practitioners (Qualification) Act, 1929, the following candidates passed the examinations :— " First " Examination in Irish. Liam M. Collins. Patrick M. K. Johnson.

MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL. 2nd February7 . Twenty-six members present. Office of County Registrar and Sheriff. It was resolved that the Minister for Justice be requested to receive a deputation from the Council in support of the suggestion of the Council that the office of Sheriff be discontinued to be held jointly with that of County Registrar. 23rd February. Twenty-two members present. Section 47. A report from the Privileges Committee upon an application from a Solicitor to renew his annual certificate was considered, and the application was refused. Land Registry. A letter was read from a member drawing attention to Rule 157 of the Land Registry rules and suggesting that steps should be taken to secure its repeal. The matter was referred to a Committee for consideration. MR. SAMUEL EAGLESON, Solicitor, died on the 8th February, 1939, at his residence, Aerie, Market Road, Ballymena. Mr. Eagleson served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. John K. Currie, Ballymena ; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1907, and practised at Ballymena up to 1920, when he retired. OBITUARY.
