OBITUARY. MR. THOMAS F. BURKE, Solicitor, died on the 5th May, 1939, at his residence, 4 Belgrave Square, Monkstown, Co. Dublin. Mr. Burke served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. William Deverell, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1901, and practised at City Hall, Dublin. He was Assistant Law Agent to the MR. FREDERICK W. FORREST, Solicitor, died on the 16th May, 1939, at Rocklyn, East Foxdale, Isle of Man. Mr. Forrest was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1886, and practised at Tipperary up to 1936, when he retired. MR. ROBERT DIAMOND, Solicitor, died on the 25th May, 1939, at Belfast. Mr. Diamond served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. John D. Coates, Belfast, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1894, and practised at Donegall Street, Belfast. MR. JOHN D. CLARKE, Solicitor, died on the 25th May, 1939, at Midhurst, Sussex. Mr. Clarke served his apprenticeship with Mr. Sydney Matthews, Dublin, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1935, and practised at 11 Lr. Ormond Quay, Dublin, up to 1937. Corporation of Dublin.

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. llth May.

Twenty-four members present. Dublin Metropolitan District Court. A letter in reply from the Minister for Justice was read stating that appropriate steps have already been taken with a view to supplementing the present staff of the Dublin Metropolitan District Court, but that it will of course be understood that some little delay must inevitably take place in making such appointments. District Probate Registrar. A letter in reply from Mr. Justice Hanna was read acknowledging receipt of resolu tion of the Tipperary Sessions Bar in reference to the filling of the vacant office of District Probate Registrar of Waterford, a copy of which had been sent to him by the Council of this Society. The Judge expressed his agreement with the resolution. The resolution appeared in the Gazette A letter was read from a member drawing attention to the delay in the furnishing from the Probate Office of sealed and certified copies of grants for the object of obtaining English grants. The President undertook to discuss this matter with Mr. Justice Hanna. of last month Probate Office.
