A firm of solicitors having drawn the attention of the Council to a new practice of retaining in the Land Registry copies of Folios lodged by solicitors to be written up, and of issuing copies of the revised Folios only, which do not disclose former dealings, the Council expressed the view that this practice is undesirable, and requested the Registrar to reconsider the procedure re ferred to. The Registrar has expressed agreement with the view of the Council, and lias directed that in future ever}' copy Folio lodged to be written up shall be returned to the party lodging it when the copy of the revised Folio is issued.

The Registrar emphasises the advantages of revising Folios from time to time, and points out that such revision saves solicitors much unnecessary work of reading entries of former dealings with registered land no longer material to the title. Former Folios are retained in the Registry, and interested parties can inspect them and obtain copies. Irish Land Commission.
