'Sittings, 1.904, and'practised as a member of the firm of Hanrahan & Co., at 70 South Mall, Cork, up to 1914, when he retired. .MR. ARTHUR G. RINGWOOD, Solicitor, died on the 17th January, 1937, at his residence, Corduff, Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin. Mr. Ringwood served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. R. A. Ross Todd, Bally- shannon, and was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1897. MR. JOSEPH M- KENNEDY, Solicitor, died on the 18th January, 1937, at Balbriggan, County Dublin. Mr. Kennedy was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1888, and practised at Balbriggan. MR. SAMUEL G. CRYMBLE, Solicitor, died on the 26th January, 1937, at his residence, 12 College Green, Belfast. Mr. Crymble was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1889, and practised at Mayfair, Arthur Square, Belfast. THE LATE MR. P. M. SEALES Mr. Peter M- Seales, Solicitor, died on the 30th January, 1937, at his residence, 52 Lansdowne Road, Dublin. Mr. Seales served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Valentine Kilbride, Dublin; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1901, and practised at 11 College Green, Dublin. In the death of Mr. Seales the Council has lost a valued member, who for eighteen years past gave untiring assistance in the work of the Society. He filled the office of President of the Society in the year 1929-30. For several years past he had been a member of the Statutory Committee, of the Court of Examiners, and of various other Committees of the Council. At its meeting on the 4th February, the Council passed the following resolution : " The Council of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland have learned with the deepest 'regret of the death of their colleague Mr. Peter M. Seales, who for the past eighteen years has been a member of the Council, and filled the office of President of the Society in the year 1929-30.

"The Council place on record their appreciation of the deep interest always taken by their late, colleague in the affairs of the Society, and of the valuable services rendered by him in .everything which appertained to the welfare of the Solicitors' profession. " The Council tender to Mrs. Seales and to the members of the family their very sincere sympathy with them in their bereavement."

COURTS OF JUSTICE ACT, 1936. RULES COMMITTEES. Superior Court.

The President of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland is, by virtue of Section 67 (2) (c), an ex-officio member of the Superior Court Rules Committee constituted under the Act. Circuit Court. The Council has, under the provisions of Section 69 (4) of the Act, nominated the following two practising Solicitors to be nominated members of the Circuit Court Rules Committee: Mr. John J. Horgan, Cork, and Mr. Thomas H. R. Craig, Dublin. District Court. The Council has, under the provisions of Section 71 -(4) of the Act, nominated the following two practising Solicitors to be nominated members of the District Court Rules Committee : Mr. Edward H. Burne, Dublin, and Mr. Daniel J. Reilly, Trim. Local Registration of Title. The Council has, under the provisions of Section 73 (4), nominated the following practising Solicitor to be a nominated member of the Local Registration of Title Rules Committee : Mr. -Henry P. Mayne, Dublin. LAND ACTS, 1923-1936. An official index of estates of tenanted and untenanted lands as at 31st March, 1936, will be found, for reference, on the table of the Society's Library.
