MEETINGS OF 1HE COUNCIL 7th October. Twenty-two members present. District Courts. It was resolved to request the Ministry of Justice to have furnished to each District Court Justice of the Saorstat a map showing the boundaries of the area of his Court. Income Tax, Section 6, Finance Act, 1928. A letter in reply from the Revenue Com– missioners was read, in which it was stated that the Commissioners will be glad to receive particulars of any complaints in reference to the delay in the furnishing of cer– tificates under Section 6, as the Commission– ers are most anxious that grounds for such complaints should be removed. 28th October. Twenty-seven members present. Court of Examiners. A report from the Court of Examiners, giving the results of the October examina– tions was submitted. The results appear in this Gazette. Annual Report. The draft Annual Report of the Council was submitted and adopted.

BALLOT FOR COUNCIL. The ballot for election of Council for year ending 26th November, 1938, will be held on Monday, 22nd November, 1937, from eleven o'clock to one o'clock in the Secre– tary's office, Solicitor's Buildings, Four Cpurts, Dublin. Voting papers should reach the Secretary, or may be personally delivered, not later than one o'clock, p.m., on Monday, 22nd November. GENERAL MEETING. A Half-yearly General Meeting of the Society will be held at half past two o'clock, p.m., on Friday, 26th November, in the Hall of the Society, Solicitors' Buildings, Four Courts, Dublin. OBITUARY. MR. JOHN J. MCDONALD, Solicitor, died on the 20th August, 1937, at his residence, " Belclare," Temple Gardens, Dublin. Mr. McDonald served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Daniel Purcell, Dublin, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1900, and prac– tised at Kingsbridge, Dublin as Solicitor of the Great Southern Railways. MR. GERARD A. HOWE, Solicitor, died on the 31st August, 1937 at Belfast. Mr. Howe was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1893, and practised at 40 Westland Row, Dublin up to 1922, when he went to Belfast.
