MR. WILLIAM J. LUNDY, Solicitor, died on the 21st October, 1937, at Dublin. Mr. Lundy served his apprenticeship with Mr. William S. Hayes, Dublin ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1899, and practised as a member of the firm of Hayes & Son, at 41 Nassau Street, Dublin. MR. DANIEL O'GRADY, Solicitor, died on the 31st October, 1937, at 45 Waterloo Place, Dublin Mr. O'Grady served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. D. O'C Miley, Dublin ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1915, and practised at 22 Mary Street, Dublin. The British Revenue Authorities have intimated to the parties concerned in the case of In re Finance Act, 1894, and Deane ; (reported The Irish Reports, 1936, page 556) their acceptance in that case of the law as laid down in the judgment of the High Court of the Irish Free State- EXAMINATIONS RESULTS. At the Preliminary Examination held on llth and 12th October, the following passed the Examination and their names are arranged in order of merit : 1. John Bolton three failed. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS, 1937. A Silver Medal was awarded to Nicholas J. Cosgrave, Jun., and a Special Certificate to John Bolton. LEGAL PRACTITIONERS (QUALIFICATION) ACT, 1929. The following passed a " First Examina– tion " in Irish under the above Act, held on 1st October : Gerard C. Byrne Joan Conway Samuel V. Crawford Sheila C. P. Doorly John C. Griffin Raymond G. MR- EDWARD ST. CLAIR BELL, Solicitor, died on the 19th September, 1937, at 11 Eaton Square, Monkstown, Co. Dublin. Mr. Bell served his apprenticeship with his father, the late Mr. Alexander Bell, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1906, and practised at 20 Molesworth Street, Dublin, up to 1914, when he entered the Land Registry, Dublin. MR. ALFRED M. MUNN, Solicitor, died on 19th September, 1937, at his residence, " Lisleen," Co. Londonderry. Mr. Munn served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. D. M. Colquhoun, Londonderry, was admitted in Easter Term, 1877, and practised at Londonderry up to 1892, when he was appointed Clerk of the Crown and Peace for the City and County of London– derry, which position he occupied up to 1933, when he retired. MR. CHARLES H. THORP, Solicitor, died on the 28th September, 1937, at his residence, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. Mr. Thorp served his apprenticeship with his father, the late Mr. Charles Thorp, Bagenalstown, was admitted in Easter Term, 1874, and practised as a member of the firm of Thorp & Son at Bagenalstown. MR. J. E. LEFROY STEIN, Solicitor, died on the 27th September, 1937, at " Dunedin," Monkstown, Co. Dublin. Mr. Stein was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1879, and practised at 53 Dawson Street, Dublin as a member of the firm of H. & J. Lefroy Stein, up to 1902, when he retired. MR. DAVID WILSON, Solicitor, died on the 13th October, 1937, at Kelso, Scotland. Mr. Wilson was admitted in' Michaelmas Sittings, 1890, and practised as a member of the firm of David Wilson & Co., at Raphoe, Co. Donegal. MR. SAMUEL B. E. WARD, Solicitor, died on the 9th October, 1937, at his residence, " The Oaks," Tunbridge Wells, England. Mr. Ward was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1886, and practised as a member of the firm of Collis & Ward at 13 Clare Street, Dublin, up to 1921, when he retired.
