Differentiation in Action

Use Manipulatives: If students are having a diffcult time fnding a missing number or the next number in a sequence, have them use place-value blocks to represent the frst number they know and then add to or take away blocks in order to fnd the missing number.

Skill Building

Writing in Math: Have students write to answer, How can you use what you already know about counting to count past 100? Use the sentence frame; I already know ___ this can help me count past 100 because ______. Have them draw a picture to show their thinking.
