End of Unit Competency

By the end of Topic 14 students will be able to describe shapes and tell how to compose new shapes. Language Functions and Features: Describe data and/or steps to solve problems using: ● Mathematical terms ( shapes, attributes, describe, triangle, hexagon, 2-D, rectangle, square, 3-D, fat, cylinder, cone, cube, rectangular prism, edges, faces, sphere ) ● Visuals ( shapes, tools, pattern blocks, fractions of circle ) to support approach, solution, and/or extract information ● Declarative statements to state conclusion ( I know this is a cone because…. )
