By the end of Topic 3 students will be able to explain and model adding to 20 strategies.

● Mathematical terms ( number line, doubles-plus-facts, make ten, near doubles, sum, in all,, model ) ● Visuals ( pictures, number lines, ten frames ) to support approach, solution, and/or extract information ● Declarative statements to state conclusion ( There are 8 birds left in the tree.)
