ONLINE EXAMINATION INTRODUCTION

As the final stage of your application process you will required to undertake an online examination. You will receive an invitation in writing from the CMSA which will include all instructions for you to undertake the same. The receipt of this invitation is indicative that the CMSA has reviewed and processed your application and is satisfied that you are eligible to proceed with the last stage of the certification process. As this is an “open book” examination, the CMSA recommends you have a copy of both publications with you at the time you undertake your examination. This will allow you to check your answers carefully by referencing the information within both publications. For the purpose of preparing for the examination the CMSA suggests you take the time to read both the National Standards and National Code of Ethics for Case Management. Pursuant to the veracity, integrity and fidelity of the examination process the CMSA does not permit the unlawful duplication of the online assessment (full or part thereof). Any applicant who is found to have made a copy in any format (i.e. photograph, image, screen dump, written or verbal etc) for their personal or public use and/or gain will be determined by the CMSA as in breach of the certification process and will incur immediate suspension of their application or cancellation of their certification status. Any such actions are considered a serious ethical breach by the CMSA and may adversely affect any future certification application to the CMSA. Key points When a Certified Case Manager (CCM) application is authenticated and accepted by the CMSA an applicant will be invited by email to undertake the online multiple choice (open) book examination as the final step [Stage Three] in the Certification application process. The examination is based on the National Standards of Practice for Case Management, 2013 Edition and National Code of Ethics for Case Management 2013 Edition and all applicants must access these publications during the online examination in order to complete the same. Complimentary copies of both publications are issued as part of the CMCT01 training, however should an applicant apply via Pathway One (1) and chose not to complete the CMCT01 training, access to the e-books is available from the CCM Online Examination Platform. Copies may also be purchased from the CMSA website. Access to the online examination modules is at the discretion of the applicant and is available 24/7 for twelve (12) months from the date of the online application. For the purpose of preparing for the examination the CMSA recommends you take the time to read both the National Standards and National Code of Ethics for Case Management so that you are familiar with the chapters and content of both publications. The CCM Online Examination Platform is a restricted webpage (available to authorised Certified Case Manager™ applicants only) and includes hyperlinks to each of the seven (7) CCM Examination Modules. To access this page an applicant must be logged into The examination has been divided into seven (7) short modules (with either 10 or 9 questions) to assist the applicant to complete the total examination in intervals as time permits. The total time for all seven (7) modules is 136 minutes or 2 hours and 16 minutes. An applicant must achieve 100% accuracy for each module. There are no limitations placed by the CMSA as to the number of times an applicant may re-sit each module. When a module is completed the examination score is sent to the applicants primary email address as registered within their online application. In order to track their progress an applicant will need to have access to their primary email account whilst completing the online examination. If an applicant is unable to access their nominated primary email address for any reason please contact the CMSA at certification@cmsa.org.au to nominate a new primary email address. Upon receiving 100% for all modules the successful applicant will receive endorsement as a Certified Case Manager™ (CCM). The successful applicant will be notified by email and their testamur/lapel pin are posted to them by Australia Post and details added to the CCM Online Register for public access. the website using their CCM username and password (or member login details) provided by the CMSA. There is a time limit of two (2) minutes applied to each question within all of the seven (7) modules.
