The objective of the study is to validate the current method (AOAC First Action 2012.22) by determining its precision figures (repeatability and reproducibility) with an additional multi- laboratory testing (MLT) on two matrices.

Summary Answer

The results presented in this document show that AOAC Official method 2012.22 comply with the requirements set in the corresponding SMPR, and thus is fit for purpose for the analysis of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in infant formula and adult/pediatric nutritionals. The authors recommend that the method should be proposed for AOAC Final Action Official Method status.
