MOTION: Motion by Brodsky; Second by Carter to move to adopt OMAMAN-48: Evaluation of the Gene-Up ® Cronobacter Method for the Detection of Cronobacter Species in Select Foods and Environmental Surfaces for AOAC First Action Official Methods status. Consensus demonstrated by: (Unanimous) 8 in favor, 0 opposed, and 1 abstention. Motion Passed. MOTION: Motion by Chen; Second by Arbault to recommend the following for AOAC Final Action consideration; 1) to solicit active and passive user feedback, 2) Feedback on increased test portion sizes. Consensus demonstrated by: (Unanimous) 8 in favor, 0 opposed, and 1 abstention. Motion Passed. ERP members presented their review and discussed the proposed collaborative study manuscripts for: OMAMAN-49: Evaluation of the Gene-Up ® Salmonella Method for the Detection of Salmonella Species in a Broad Range of Foods and Select Environmental Surfaces: Collaborative Study, OMAMAN-50: Evaluation of the Gene-Up ® Listeria Spp. Method for the Detection of Listeria Species in a Variety Of Foods And Select Environmental Surfaces, OMAMAN-51: Evaluation of the Gene-Up ® Listeria Monocytogenes Method for the Detection of Listeria Monocytogenes in a Variety of Foods and Select Environmental Surfaces, and OMAMAN- 52: Evaluation of the Gene-Up ® E. Coli O157:H7 Method for the Detection of E. Coli O157:H7 in Select Foods, submitted by Ron Johnson of BioMerieux, Inc., located at 595 Anglum Road, Hazelwood, MO 63042. The method author was present and able to address questions and concerns of the ERP members. 5 A summary of comments was provided to the ERP members and the method author. 6 By consensus, the ERP presented the following motions for OMAMAN-49, OMAMAN-50, OMAMAN-51, and OMAMAN-52.
