Policy Title: ADMISSION OF LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE TO ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING BRIDGE PROGRAM Licensed Practical nurses are eligible for consideration for advanced placement in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bridge Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. The applicant must apply for regular admission and be accepted by the College. 2. The applicant must apply to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program. 3. The applicant must have an 18 ACT composite score and a cumulative GPA of 2.00. 4. The applicant must have completed all pre-requisite courses with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better. 5. The applicant must hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Mississippi. 6. The applicant must have one-year clinical work experience within the last five years; documentation from employer(s) must be submitted with application. 7. The applicant must score 100% on dosage calculation test given prior to admission.

Prerequisite Courses

Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab or upper level equivalent with lab Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab or upper level equivalent with lab Microbiology with Lab or upper level equivalent English Composition I & II Human Growth & Development

Meeting the admission criteria does not guarantee admission into the program. The number of students admitted into the program will vary according to resources available. The acceptance criteria are the same as for the two-year ADN program. In addition, post acceptance requirements are the same as all other ADN students. Applications for the College may be obtained from the Office of Admissions & Records, P. O. Box 129, Decatur, MS 39327. Applications for the LPN to ADN Bridge Program may be obtained online at www.eccc.edu after August 1 each year . Application deadline for the annual spring admission is October 1.
