Policy Title: ABE/HSE AND SPECIAL INTEREST CLASSE S

The College offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) and High School Equivalency (HSE) classes in several locations throughout the College’s five-county district. These classes prepare individuals to take the tests to qualify for an HSE diploma. There is no time requirement for completion of these classes. Enrollment occurs approximately every six (6) weeks. Students may enter at any level and progress until they are prepared to take the appropriate tests. Student assessment is available to ensure appropriate placement. HSE tests are administered five (5) days a week with official testing centers located on the Decatur campus and at the Integrated Technology and Training Center in Choctaw, MS. Special interest classes are also offered. These classes are organized based on specific needs or requests from citizens of the College’s five-county district. No academic credit is awarded for completion of these classes; however, CEU credit may be available for some classes. The classes are offered at varying times and for varying lengths.
