Policy Title: OTHER CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES

Special interest classes will be offered throughout the district when a sufficient number of people indicate an interest in a course and a qualified instructor can be employed. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits are awarded upon the completion of these programs and upon request. One CEU is equal to ten hours of instruction.

The following procedures apply to special interest classes:

1. The Director of Academic and Continuing Education will determine the classes that are needed/desired in the local area, secure meeting places, and make a class schedule. 2. College personnel will register and collect student fees as determined by East Central Community College. 3. Instructors must be knowledgeable of the subject with a minimum of one year practical experience. 4. Instructors will be required to complete all forms and reports as required by the program. 5. East Central Community College will determine the rate of pay for Continuing Education instructors.
