CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE

While a certain competitor has taken the Huey Lewis route by going back in time, FPS superstar Call of Duty sticks with what it has recently excelled at – plummeting headlong into future warfare. It’s hard to believe that this is the 13th iteration of CoD – that’s a lot of legacy to live up to. But developers Infinity Ward are up for the challenge, almost cheekily so, as this iteration tasks you with the very this-is-serious-mum responsibility of protecting the entire solar system.

Geez, no pressure! Your enemies are the insurgent Settlement Defence Front, who are obviously madder than cut snakes owned by the Joker and loaned out to Norman Bates for slithery thing day care, simply for the scope of what they’re trying to achieve. Yes, it’s set in space, meaning interplanetary travel. The best thing about this is that you get to mess about in zero gravity. You’ll all float on OK though, thanks to your trusty booster pack and grappling hook. You’ll get into free-

roaming aerial combat, then seamlessly transfer to more familiar “boots on the ground” warfare. Then there are numerous quests, the deep multiplayer that CoD is renowned for, literally hundreds of weapons and, naturally, zombies (with added PeeWee Herman!) After all, it wouldn’t be CoD without a touch of GRR, ARGH and HA-HA! If you liked this, you may also like... DOOM, Titanfall 2

2014’s Watch Dogs reminded us of TV’s Person of Interest . Now that the show’s dead, this may aid healing, with a decent dose of Mr. Robot also injected. An upgraded remix of the ctOS surveillance system has been installed in San Francisco, and that’s where this jaunt into the hacker life takes place.
