•The Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Ohio Department of Education are requesting grant proposals to support graduate coursework for high school teachers who need additional qualifications to teach college courses under the College Credit Plus program. For more information and to view eligibility requirements, click here . •Drafts of the revised model curricula for financial literacy are available for public review until Oct. 6. Complete the four grade band surveys to share your thoughts about the proposed changes. •The Ohio Department of Education’s Office for Exceptional Children will award grants to help improve secondary transition service systems across the state. The office will distribute up to 20 grants, each worth up to $125,000. The application and submission details are available on the Secondary Transition and Workforce Development for Students with Disabilities webpage. Important Dates Approaching Today, September 13, is the deadline to submit district selection of ACT or SAT for spring 2020 administration. ODE has updated its webpages for the state-funded ACT and SAT tests. The SAT vendor will contact participating districts starting in early October. The ACT vendor will contact participating districts starting in early November. Districts that will administer the tests online must become vendor-approved testing sites according to steps outlined on each vendor’s website for Ohio. September 30 is the submission deadline for the Career-Tech Middle Grades Waiver form.
