b. A change in color.

As an alternative to complying with the facade wall expression requirement in subsection 1 above, industrial buildings not located in a Town Center district, facade walls may include a change in color or reveals (if tilt-up concrete is the predominant facade material).

D. Facade Wall – Features

Facades Adjacent to a Public or Private Street Right-of-Way Ground floor facade walls adjacent to an existing or proposed public or private street shall have entry areas, awnings (fabric or metal, no plastic), windows, recessed areas for seating or gathering, or similar features designed to provide visual interest along no less than 60 percent of the horizontal length of the wall. (See Figure 5.9.5.D: Example of Awnings and Entry Area Elements.)

Side and Rear Facades Although the front facade of a principal building is expected to be the primary focal point in terms of architectural character and features, all sides of a building shall incorporate architectural detailing (e.g., windows, doors, accent materials, and other features) that complement the front facade and provides visual interest.
