AMA A merican marketing Association pro– vides a link between USD and the San Diego business community. This club is open to any student with the theory in mind that whatever business you pursue you will have to market yourself. The club informs stu– dents of various aspect or the marketing field. Some of the events this year have included speakers, social events and their national con– vention. AMA speakers have included the ac– counting representative and marketing coor– dinator of channel 39, employees of Xerox, and entrepreneurs. One social event this year was a party in Tecolote Park. AMA's national con– vention was in New Orleans this year. The convention was from March 29-April 1. The students either paid for the trip themselves, or they asked for sponsorship from local corpora– tions. A mnesty international is a worldwide independent move– ment working impartially for the release of all prisoners of con– science, fair and prompt trials for po– litical prisoners, and an end to torture and executions. Our chapter here at USD attempts to raise awareness about these issues and works towards the realization of Amnesty Interna– tional's goals. We are involved in a variety of activities which include let– ter uniting sessions, hosting guest speakers, unite-athons, and video and music shows. Our club is made up of students from different backgrounds, whose common interest 1s human rights. Amnesty International
