ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY EFFICIENCY DRIVES SUSTAINABILITY Range Rover Sport demonstrates Land Rover’s commitment to enhancing the sustainability of its products and operations. With its lightweight aluminium structure and optimised powertrains, Range Rover Sport addresses the growing consumer need for more socially acceptable vehicles in a carbon-conscious world. Its greener credentials stem from a comprehensive approach to reducing environmental impact throughout the life cycle of the vehicle, from development and manufacturing, to customer use and end-of-life. SUSTAINABLE BY DESIGN, WITH LIFE CYCLE APPROACH In order to minimise the vehicle’s overall ecological impact, Range Rover Sport is designed with a life cycle approach, aiming to minimise the environmental impact by considering the entire life cycle of the vehicle. Each element of the life cycle was analysed with a view to consuming fewer natural resources, using more sustainable materials and minimising the generation of waste. The development process has included a full life cycle assessment in line with ISO 14040/14044.

Range Rover Sport’s aluminium construction makes a major contribution to its reduced carbon footprint. Up to 50 percent of the aluminium material is sourced from recycled content, resulting in a significant saving of energy and CO 2 emissions. Recycled and renewable materials are used wherever possible in the Range Rover Sport. High specification vehicles use up to 26.7kg of recycled plastics, diverting over 11,800 tonnes of plastic from landfill during the carline’s life. Natural and renewable materials, such as the luxurious leathers and veneers, represent 28kg of each vehicle. To ensure the greatest possible fuel efficiency, all Range Rover Sport powertrains incorporate low CO 2 technologies such as the advanced Intelligent Stop/Start System, which improves fuel consumption by between 5 and 7 percent. The system automatically shuts down the engine at rest and starts it again as soon as you lift your foot off the brake. It features a Tandem Solenoid Starter with a dedicated secondary battery for instant restarting. INTELLIGENT STOP START SYSTEM*
