becoming the home location for the soccer club. This agreement secured space for the organization in the coming years, but also created stability in rental revenue for the department that we can look to invest back into our park facilities. It would be hard to speak about the past year if we didn’t address how the world stopped in many ways in the middle of March. As we are still working on finding a new way to navigate life, but during the spring we could not have been more proud to be a part of this community. While the department found new ways to help address the needs of the community, many of you were there to support our community during its greatest time of need. As the department created the Community Wellness Outreach Program to help those in need during the quarantine, we had people volunteer in masses to help us deliver food to homes, donate to our first ever GNG Mobile Food Drive as we help stock the shelves of our community food pantries or be wellness callers to make “check in” calls to our neighbors. It was heartwarming to see all the positivity come out at such a dark time in our community both locally and globally. Thank you will never seem like enough to express how grateful we are for all that each of you did for our community, but thank you so much for taking the time and making New Gloucester a better place. The spring was a challenging way to end the year, but we are truly stronger together. The support from the community during the last several months are true signs of what this community is made of and we all should be proud to be a part of it. A huge thank you goes out to all of the community partners, members of the Parks & Recreation Committee, volunteers and participants of our programs. All of you have impacted this community during these difficult times and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for all of your efforts and dedication.
