ALFRED BLAKE, Solicitor, died on the 16th June, 1913, at his residence, Eippa Lodge, Sunday's Well, Cork. Mr. Blake served his apprenticeship with his brother, the late Mr. J. C. Blake, 27 Marlboro' Street, Cork, with whom he practised in partnership up to the death of the latter, and he subsequently practised in partnership with his nephew Mr. Frederick L. Blake (who carries on the business), under the style of J. C. & A. Blake, at 27 Marlboro-' Street, Cork. Mr. Blake had for the last six years been an Extra-Ordinary member of the Council. MR. JEHU MATHEWS died on the 25th June, 1913, at Dublin. Mr. Mathews, who served his apprentice ship with his father, the late Mr. Samuel Mathews, 12 Lower Dominick Street, Dublin,

copies of which were sent to Lady Ashbourne and to Mr. Justice Gibson :— Resolved:—" The Council of the Incor- " porated Law Society of Ireland hereby " place on record their expression of deep " regret on the death of the Right Honourable " Lord Ashbourne, and their appreciation of " his many special and valued services to the " Society during his distinguished career at " the Bar and in the House of Commons, and " afterwards as Lord Chancellor of Ireland " and a member of the House of Lords. '' The Council desire to express to Lady " Ashbourne, to Mr. Justice Gibson, and to " the other members of Lord Ashbourne's " family, an assurance of their sympathy " with them in their bereavement." At the meeting of the Council upon the 18th June, letters were read from Lad}7 Ashbourne. Mr. Justice Gibson, and the Hon. Mr. Edward Gibson, B.L., thanking' the Council for their resolution of appreciation and sympathy. Council Meetings. MEETINGS of the Council will be held upon the following dates :— July 2nd, 16th, and 30th. October 1st, 15th, and 29th. Committee Meetings. THE Lord Chancellor has appointed Mr. Valentine Kilbride, Solicitor, of 1 Dame Street, Dublin, to be a Taxing Master, in room of the late Master Mathews.
