599 Named after its 5999 cc displacement, Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature, and the Fiorano Circuit test track, the 599 GTB Fiorano was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show as Ferrari’s most powerful V12-engined production car to date. It certainly met expectations, demonstrating its 0-60 sprint in 3.7 seconds and powering on to a top speed of

205 mph. Designed by Pininfarina, the objective was to retain the Ferrari trademark of sportiness while exploring innovative lines, with each surface perfectly sculpted to incorporate aerodynamic technology. Extensive testing in the wind tunnel and optimization of the car’s flat underbody led to superior results in terms of downforce and drag reduction. The 65˚ V12 engine was built using the same basic design as the Enzo engine, and further developments allowed for high engine revs and reduced weight. Mounted in a mid-front position, the engine delivered smooth power delivery and enhanced performance. This, coupled with an F1-superfast gearbox, bolstered the car’s unique strength. The powerful 599 GTB Fiorano was another symbolic sports car in Ferrari production history, joining the myriad of 12-cylinder two-seaters that proudly bear the prancing horse badge.
