Discussion

Calculation options are located on the Options dialog box Advanced page. Set options in the Calculation section to control how Microsoft Project calculates project information. Indicate whether you want calculations performed automatically, which is the default, or only when you specify. Control calculations when working with multiple projects, as well as an individual project. For the current project, specify how you want Microsoft Project to calculate project status information, inserted projects, actual costs, fixed costs, and multiple critical paths. In addition, set the amount of slack for critical tasks (the default is 0 ) and select how you want the completed and uncompleted parts of a task rescheduled around the status date.

NOTE If you set the calculation method to Manual , select the Calculate Now button on the Calculation page in the Options dialog box when you want to update your project data. Otherwise, the project data will not be updated properly.
