Discussion

When you save a baseline, the default option makes a copy of the baseline for the entire project; however, you can also save a baseline for selected tasks. Saving a baseline of selected tasks is helpful when you save a baseline of the entire project and then realize you need to adjust certain incorrect task information. You can revise the tasks then update the original baseline for those tasks only.

In addition, during the life of the project you may need to add tasks after the baseline was saved. Select the new tasks and add them to your original plan by updating the original baseline.
