W ORKING WITH B ASELINES



Task

Work with baselines.

1. Open Rooms11 . 2. Apply the Variance table to the Gantt Chart view and drag the split bar as far right as possible. 3. Save a project baseline. 4. Use the Task Information dialog box to change the duration of the 22 Install Computers task to 4 days . You can accept the smart tag results. Notice the -.5 day finish variance for the task. Update the current baseline by adding the changes to this task only. 5. Notice that the 16 Update Computer Room summary task still has a finish variance of -.5 day due to the change in the Install Computers task. Update the project baseline for the entire project. 6. Use the Task Information dialog box to change the duration of the 2 Plan Approval task to 5 days . Accept the smart tag results. Save a new baseline for the entire project. 7. Apply a constraint to the 13 Lay Carpets in Board Room task so that it starts no earlier than 7/25/18 . Save a new baseline for the entire project. 8. Use the Task Information dialog box to change the duration of the 3 Obtain Permits task to 6 days . Accept the smart tag results. Save an interim plan for the entire project in the Start1/Finish1 fields. 9. Add the Start1 and Finish1 columns to the Variance table. 10. Clear the Start1/Finish1 plan for the entire project. Notice that NA appears in both the Start1 and Finish1 fields. 11. Close the file without saving the changes.
