Carrie on without Brody. HOMELAND: SEASON FOUR

REDFERN NOW: PROMISE ME Series regulars Deborah Mailman, Wayne Black and Rarriwuy Hick reprise their roles in this telemovie finale that brings the ABC's award-winning indigenous-themed drama series to a satisfying and powerful conclusion. In the titular Sydney suburb, two women fight for justice in the aftermath of a violent crime. Also available as part of a 5-disc box set with Series One and Two. OUT: 15/04/15 THE MUSKETEERS: SERIES TWO France and Spain are on the brink of war as Athos, Aramis, Porthos and D'Artagnan return for more swashbuckling in 10 all-new episodes of the BBC's historical adventure series. Marc Warren (from Mad Dogs and Hustle ) joins the cast as Rochefort, replacing Peter Capaldi's Cardinal Richelieu as the show's resident villain. (Download the digital copy of this mag on the STACK App to access a Q&A with Warren.) OUT: 15/04/15 NORTHMEN: A VIKING SAGA In the wake of TV's Vikings , Norsemen are suddenly all the rage, and this Swiss production takes its cues from the History Channel series. Aussie and True Blood star Ryan Kwanten finds himself Valhalla-bound as a Christian monk who falls in with a group of exiled viking renegades, led by Asbjörn (Tom Hopper). Expect brave deeds, bloody battles, braids, and slick production values. OUT: 01/04/15 LIFE ITSELF Renowned film critic Roger Ebert is the subject of this very thorough documentary feature. From freelancing in high school to his long term position with the Chicago Sun-Times , Ebert was as much a part of cinema history as the movies he spent his life reviewing, until losing his battle with thyroid cancer in 2013, aged 70. It's a life worthy of its own biopic, and Steve James' excellent doco (drawn from Ebert's 2011 memoir of the same name) pays worthy tribute. OUT: 08/04/14 LATE PHASES A werewolf terrorises a retirement community in the new film from Spanish director Adrián García Bogliano ( Here Comes the Devil ); his first English-language feature. But come the next full moon, this hairy shapeshifter meets its match in a blind Vietnam vet (the terrific Nick Damici) who can still kick arse. As much a character study as a werewolf movie, Late Phases pays homage to the glory days of '80s horror, when practical FX ruled. (See page 42) OUT: 22/04/15 RE-ANIMATOR It's been 30 years since our jaw first hit the floor during Stuart Gordon's outrageous H.P. Lovecraft adaptation. Now this horror cult classic has been furnished with a High-Def special edition for its 30th Anniversary, which includes both the 86 minute theatrical cut and longer 104 minute integral version, loads of extras, and cool reversible artwork (resembling a heavy metal album cover). This limited edition is only available from JB stores. OUT: 01/04/15

So, does Homeland still work without Nicholas Brody? Absolutely! In fact, Season Four is among the series' best yet; not only has the show's format been revised, its depiction of current events in the Middle East proves frighteningly prescient. And with the focus off Brody, marginalised fan-favourite Quinn (Rupert Friend) gets a lot more screen time. Carrie (Claire Danes) trades domestic bliss and a baby she doesn't really want for a CIA position in Islamabad, only to face the explosive repercussions of a drone strike she ordered, which took out the wedding party

of a Taliban operative. The kid from Life of Pi (Suraj Sharma) also scores a guest role this season, as a Pakistani medical student whom Carrie uses to get closer to her terrorist target. Homeland has become even more ruthless and unpredictable, sustaining its intensity over 12 nail-biting episodes.

There's more to the mystery. BROADCHURCH: SERIES 2

Release Date: 08/04/15

Format:

Easily the best British crime/mystery series since Helen Mirren was chasing prime suspects, Broadchurch appeared to be all wrapped up once the identity of 11-year-old Danny Latimer's killer became known. But the impact of this shocking crime continues to reverberate for the residents of the sleepy seaside town in Dorset. When the accused decides to plead "not guilty", the townsfolk are forced to relive the nightmare of Danny's murder during a harrowing trial that will expose even more secrets and lies. The brilliant detective double-act

of Olivia Colman and David Tennant are joined by newcomers Charlotte Rampling and Marianne Jean-Baptiste, as duelling lawyers, while a prior case returns to haunt Tennant in the form of Torchwood 's Eve Myles and her edgy other half, James D'Arcy. Must-see TV. • See page 40
