SLIPPERY SLIDERS SC HOST TRAILSIDE COOKOUT By Craig Young

January 22 nd started out at -25 degrees for members of the Slippery Sliders SC that were preparing for their trailside cookout. The club setup at the intersection of Connector 16 and ITS117 in Byron, the busiest intersec- tion on the SSSC trail system. The River Valley, Weld, and Andover areas all come thru this intersection to ride up to the Rangeley Lakes Region. The perfect place for a trailside cookout. All major trails were groomed that week all thanks to Monday’s storm and club volunteers. The cold weather that week helped keep trails hard and flat. As the morning grew older, the temperature started

to rise above 0 The sleds started rolling in. Hamburg- ers, hot dogs, pulled pork, cookies, chips, and cold/hot drinks were available as were the groomers to look at. Most riders seemed to have the cookout as their main objective that day. Members of the club met so many wonderful people. A big thank you goes out Erik, Craig, Roger, Chris, Alyson, Rosey, Michelle, and Julie for mak- ing the cookout possible. Also thank you to everyone who came out and supported the SSSC. The club is look- ing forward to next season’s trailside cookout
