amount of snow we’ve received so far. We are hoping for more snow soon so we can actually get out there with the groomers! We are working to resolve some issues with part of our trail system that connects one side of Bangor to the other, and if all goes well, by the time you read this we will have the prob- lems ironed out, but it has been a challenge to say the least! We always try to get out to do trail work, as needed, whenever weather and volunteer availability permits. Feel free to reach out to us on Facebook or drop us a line at paul- bunyanscbangor@hotmail.com for details on when and where we will be working, as we’d love to include anyone who is interested in helping out! Volunteers are ALWAYS wel- come and VERY MUCH appreciated, many hands make light work!! We’re continuing to recognize some of our business members throughout this sea- son, with the spotlight on The Shop Inc. this month! If you’re local to the Bangor area and in need of automotive repairs or service, please consider giving your business to The Shop Inc. in Hermon. They are a FULL ser- vice repair facility that can handle any and all of your needs! Their support of our club is much appreciated!! We generally hold our meetings on the second Wednesday of each month during the season, and would love to have anyone who is interested join us! We usually post meeting information on our Facebook page ahead of time, but feel free to email or message us on Facebook with any questions! Sincerely, Paul Phillips - President Hello from Ebeemee! As I write this, the temp is finally up to -8 below! When I woke up this morning, we had a very cool -29.4°. I think, as near as I can remember, that is the coldest I have seen it up here. I thought about going back to bed but then my common sense took over and I realized I had a fire to stoke and more wood to haul in! Somehow, almost magically, the weekend Pete takes off to go ice fishing with his brothers is always the coldest of the winter! We had an incident last night (Friday 1/21 out on the Jo Mary road. It seems some fish- ermen were heading back to their favorite ice fishing spot on Jo Mary Lake. The camp- ground owner has been keeping the road plowed for the last few years but evidently opted not to plow it this year. It is plowed to about mile 4 as they are logging about a half a mile in on the 111 South. Well anyway, so these four fellows drove through the intersec- tion and continued on the just groomed trail. He told me “yup, I’m that guy, I thought it was still plowed and it wasn’t until I got stuck that I realized it was groomed”! Now my initial reaction was not good when Jo Mary called to let me know they had given the fellow my number to call for help. We’ve all seen that person that drives right by the sign that says snowmobiles only… because their GPS said it was a road! But after speak- ing with him it was clear to me that he had just plain old made a mistake. The road had been plowed the winter before and the winter before. His expectation was that it would be plowed this year. We happened to have our A Team of John Troyan and Melissa Brown heading out in Sagamores Dream to make the 111 all nice for the Saturday riders. I got on the phone and caught them just before they left. Handed off the contact information and sat back and waited. When they reached the “scene of the crime”, the Maine Warden Service was already on site! Cold though, very cold. They had to walk the ¼ to half mile in. So any- way, the four fishermen were, needless to say, very, very happy to see Ebeemee Snowmobile Club’s groomer show up on the scene! John EBEEMEE sc Brownville, ME

more snow. One more significant snow and we should be able to successfully go through all of

the drag attached. Thank you to Justin from JR Fabrication, in New Portland for the work they did to refurbish the machine. The 03NH had the blade welded on so it is once again usable in the up and down motion. Thank you to Josh from Slauenwhite’s Auto Body and Welding in Mt Chase for the work he did on the machine. The 05NH had some cylinders fixed, needed some wiring corrected and the drag is straight again. The Ford had a starter replaced and a hose changed. I guess every- thing is ready to roll as soon as we get the SNOW! The last Membership count we did was 114 total members. We have a Goal of 150. Keep the forms coming and if you need one, let us know. There are many options to get that membership done. Next Meeting is February 12, 2022. Hoping we get some good accumulating storms. I’m not sure the Snow Dance is work- ing, as Mother Nature has her own agenda. Until next month. If you Ride, RESPECT and Stay RIGHT Charlene Fraser Club Secretary Hello Snowmobiler Friends, Here we are, February already! The weather has been cold, but the snow is finally reaching us here in The County. A group of volunteers got busy and were able to get our trails signed and the lake staked. It is a time-consuming task that needs to be done every year. Thank you everyone that pitched in and helped! Our Annual Pie Auction that was scheduled for Saturday February 19th has been can- celled. We apologize for this, as we all look forward to such a fun night. We are hoping to reschedule for some time during Mud Sea- son, so please stay tuned for more informa- tion. This event was going to be promoted as a Groomer Building Fundraiser, in which we plan to start building this year. If you are look- ing to donate to the fund and know you won’t be able to join us once we reschedule, please feel free to visit our website or reach out to our Treasurer at portagelakerstreasurer@gmail. com. As always, we appreciate your support! Memberships have been rolling in at a nice pace. We are always excited to see new names added to our list. Thank you to all our mem- bers, old and new alike. We appreciate all of you! If you would like to become a member of PLSC, we encourage you to do so today. This group knows how to have a good time! As always, ride right, ride safe, and THINK SNOW! If you should happen to be out rid- ing and see a groomer on the trail, be sure to give it the right of way, and give the opera- tor a thumbs up if they are doing a good job. Remember, they are out there volunteering his/her time for your enjoyment! Please stay on the marked trails and respect the landowners. Without their permission, we would not have this amazing trail system. Until next month, PORTAGE LAKERS sc Portage Lake, ME MOLUNKUS VALLEY SNO-DRIFTERS Sherman, Maine Hello Friends! Thank you to all who helped sell tickets and to those who pur- chase tickets. Upcoming is our annual dinner raffle which is scheduled for Saturday May 7th at the club. This is a fun event, which includes a silent auction of items from local area businesses and business members and other donations. The highlight however is the dessert and pie auction! Do your snow dance! Pray for the white stuff and we hope to see you at the club. Troy G Trail grunt The big news for January was the extreme cold that lingered most of the month. Many nights were below -10F and days that never went over zero. Trail coverage is thin but the cold has kept them serviceable. The best con- ditions are on the straight runs with less snow on the mountain trails. Lake ice is already thick but as always, riders should know the conditions where they are riding and never ride alone. Groomers have been out working for maximum coverage but there just is not much there as of the end of January. Hoping for a big dump in February. However, there is a lot of good riding to experience. All trails lead to and from Green- ville. ITS 85, 86, 88 and the 110 Connector are all ready for your visit. Our in-town busi- nesses offer everything you may want or need including great food, preparations for your ride, rentals, gear and sled servicing. There is ample trailer parking at the north end of the railroad bed and places to stay include dozens of bed and breakfast, motels and sport camps. And for those that want to take a rest, we offer car racing on the lake in West Cove on Feb- ruary weekends, a downhill ski mountain, ice skating, cross country ski areas, ice fishing, many shops, a library and a visitor center open 10-4pm Thursday through Saturday. And a few last words. Our businesses sup- ported our MSA Super Raffle sales giving us 2nd place in the region. The money raised allows for more grooming hours and better trails. Support these businesses any way you can on your visit to show your thanks. Keep your speed under control and expect the unex- pected including wildlife, a downed tree or a stopped sled. Night riding damages groomed trails before they can set up and refreeze. Fol- low the signage and stay on the trails. Stay safe, thank a groomer and have a great time. With that being said remember snow level is low. Lots of wildlife and goats in trails and there is a fence on the west side of RR tracks in Sibera on Kelly Hill trail. Use extreme cau- tion. We would hate for someone to get hurt and have to shut this beautiful trail down ~~~~ Not much going on @ MVSD right now. We meet the 1 st Saturday of every month @5:00p.m. for pot luck with the regular meeting @ 6:00p.m. We are located 58 North Street. Respect Landowners Property while rid- ing the trails~~~~stay on Marked Trails! Use Caution and enjoy the Beauty. Our poker run is Feb 19th starting @MVSD Clubhouse and we would like to thank our area businesses’ that have donated generously! We have a FB Page Called Helpful Informa- tion for Sledders Visiting the Sherman Area. OUR SNOW QUEEN HAS BEEN DANCIN AND IS DETERMINED TO GET US SNOW!!!!!!! LET IT SNOW!!!!! GUESS THAT’S ALL FOLKS! KEEP ON KEEPING ON :) Deb Long MVSD Club President! Mother Nature has once again not been kind to us in the Clifton area. It’s mid-January here as this is being written and we received 4-5 inches of snow that immediately turned to rain and washed most of it away. Then it froze and now we have what looks like one of the larg- est skating rinks in the country! All trails are hard packed and icy with little snow cover, so the groomers are still in the storage shed. Hopefully by the time this is read in February, we will have gotten them out and be riding locally. We canceled our January meeting so there isn’t much news from us. We are still plan- ning to have our dinner/auctions event but had a conflict with another area club on the date, so we are looking for a new date. We felt we need to support all the clubs in our area and to hold an event the same night they were wasn’t right. We will confirm a new date at our February meeting, and get busy prepping for it. Clifton Area SC is a very small club, less than 15 members so planning events and getting people to help is a huge task for us. We are lucky to have members that also belong to another local organization and we can use their facility when we need to for our large events. Once all details are worked out, we will put the word out and hopefully get people to come. Other than that, we are just waiting like many other local clubs for snow to come and stay so we can get out and ride. Until March, Ride where and when you can! Here at the club, we could really use some more snow (especially in our woods trails) However as of the second week of January the trail connectors on 107 both North and South have been gone through with the work sleds and pipe drags with pan. The power lines, open areas, fields etc. are quite passable but thin in the woods. Please use caution until we get

It has definitely been an “interesting” start to the snowmobiling season here in the Queen City! We tackled a couple more bridge repair/ replacement projects in between (and some- times during!) rain/snow storms. The ground has finally frozen enough to firm things up so the trails can be used with the very limited
