TYPE 27-FLAT

Features: • Flap discs are versatile grinding and finishing tools, consisting of backing plate, adhesive and abrasive cloth flaps. • The rectangular flaps are overlapped and glued to the backing plate. • Flap discs are designed for right angle grinder applications ranging from heavy stock removal to surface blending. • Grit range: 36 to 120. • Abrasive grain: Aluminum, Zirconia, Zirconia High-Density and ceramic grain. • Abrasive flaps: Polyester or Cotton. • Backing plate material: Fiberglass. • Flap disc shape: Type 27 Flat & Type 29 Conical. • Type 27 is used primarily on flat surfaces and is the best choice for blending and smooth finishing • Type 29 Conical flap discs have angled flaps and may be used on both contoured and edge work. • The best choice when speed and stock removal are main consideration. • High density is ideal when working on uneven or cured surfaces as well as finer grit blending. Benefits: • Rigid reinforced fiberglass backing eliminates the need for backing pads. • Cool cutting permits light contouring and prevents scaring or discolor to the work piece. • Consistent performance as individual flaps are designed to wear away evenly and present a constantly fresh working surface. • Tough construction allows for aggressive edge grinding. Best used for grinding and polishing of metals, blending welds and other metal finishing.
