Modern Mining May 2016

Temperatures reaching -50°C. Operating in foreign continents. Permafrost as deep as 2 000 metres. 60 km per hour winds. Successful delivery of 12 diamond plants across 12 000 km of ocean, river,

rail and road. Impossible? Not for DRA.

From the sweltering heat of open desert planes to the sub-zero temperatures of some of the coldest continents, DRA has partnered with the industry’s leading mineral producers to develop, design and manufacture some of the world’s most innovative, modular solutions yet. Designing and constructing 12 modular plants for Russia’s Alrosa Group, the largest diamond producer in the world by volume, have been some of our most innovative modular projects to date. Like the 55 tph modular DMS plants designed and constructed in South Africa for the Siberian Tundra. Pre-assembled and commissioned in Johannesburg before being transported and established above the Arctic circle, the entire system was fully integrated, modular and moveable, maximising efficiencies and innovatively harnessing resources. Engineering plants for regions 12 000 km away from where they are designed and manufactured is just another way DRA uses world-class expertise to deliver on time, across continents and around the globe.
