Dear residents of Buxton,

Dear residents of Buxton,

It is an honor and privilege to serve as your state senators in the 129th Maine Legislature, and we look forward to working on behalf of the people of Buxton. This session we, along with our colleagues, will take up over 2,000 pieces of legislation. We pledge to be a strong voice for Buxton, and work with anyone who shares our goal of putting Maine people first, fixing our broken and expensive health care system, and investing in education. For the next two years, Sen. Justin Chenette will serve as Senate chair of the Government Oversight Committee and on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and Senate Conduct and Ethics Committee. Sen. Linda Sanborn will serve on the Government Oversight Committee, as well as the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee. The Government Oversight Committee, on which we both serve, does the important work of ensuring that the government operates at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness, protecting taxpayer’s interests, and upholding ethical standards. Unlike other committees, the Government Oversight Committee is bipartisan, with evenly split membership from both parties. The Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, on which Sen. Sanborn serves, is responsible for crafting the two-year state budget, a monumental undertaking that requires prioritizing all of the state’s funding needs. Environment and Natural Resources, on which Sen. Chenette serves, handles issues related to our great outdoors, while the Senate Conduct and Ethics Committee is the ethics and dispute resolution body for the Maine Senate. If we can be of assistance to you, your family or our community, please feel free to reach out. If you haven’t done so yet, you can sign up for our legislative updates by visiting www.JustinChenette.com for Sen. Chenette, and www.mainesenate.org/senator/senator/linda-sanborn/ for Sen. Sanborn. You may also email us at Justin.Chenette@gmail.com and Linda.Sanborn@legislature.maine.gov or call our office at (207) 287-1515. If your son or daughter would like to shadow one of us for a day and become an official Honorary Page of the Senate, please feel free to reach out to schedule a day that works best. We hope you’re well and look forward to hearing from you soon.
