This will be the third meeting between the clubs after they met in the pool stage in 2011/12; both matches were won by the home side on the day. Ulster have won seven of their last eight home games against TOP 14 opposition, their only defeat in that run coming in October 2014 against RC Toulon. Clermont have won their last five games against Irish opposition, three against Munster and two against Leinster.
