CR309 Magnetic Two-Speed Starters 200 Horsepower Maximum NEMA Sizes 0-5, Open, NEMA Type 1, 3R, 12, 4/4X 600 Volts Maximum 50/60 Hertz Application Used for full-voltage operation of two-speed squirrel-cage induction motors at either speed. Consists of two mechanical and cross electrical interlocked contactors with two three-leg block type overload relays, one on each contactor. These bimetallic relays provide overload protection for each speed. 3-3 pole starters are for Two-Speed, Two Winding motors; 5-3 pole starters are for Two-Speed, One-Winding Consequent Pole motors. Proper motor-speed selection is obtained by adding pilot devices to correspond to each of the motor speeds. Refer to page 1-7 for features of basic starter. with FAST-SLOW-STOP push button in cover. Overload Relay Heaters For NEMA Size 3 Starters For two-speed, variable torque motors with full-load ampere rating, on low speed, below the minimum heater ampere rat- ing listed in Size 3 table, page 1-155, contact nearest GE Representative for suitable overload provision. 4. 50 Hertz Starters Pricing for 50 Hertz forms (at standard voltages) is the same as shown in table for 60 Hertz. Listed prices for 460-480 Volt also apply to 380-415 Volt , 50 Hertz. See page 1-4 for 380-415 Volt horsepower ratings. 5. Product Notes The two-winding Product Numbers listed are starters suitable for wye or closed delta connected motor windings. For open delta connected motor windings, contact your nearest GE Representative. Open form, one-winding starters are wired for constant or variable torque motor application. Reconnection of control wiring may be required for constant horsepower application. Motor full-load current should not exceed continuous ampere rating of starter. Refer to Coil Table, page 1-6, for other avail- able coils including 50 Hertz. External reset not included on standard listed forms (NEMA Type 12).
