GFTU BGCM 2019 Minutes

nine years, since 2011, only on 2 nd May 2017 there has been a brief meeting

with two of his lawyers.

What it is important to note in relation to this inhumane isolation upon Mr

Ocalan is that nation states want to destroy the political leaders who demand

political rights for their people. The aim is simple – to isolate and to put them in

the prison. The main aim is to cut off the connection between political leaders

and their people or followers. I will try also to use PowerPoint which I hope will

Basically, the AKP could not come to power alone in the election of 7 th June 2015 because of

HDP’s success, which became the second biggest opposition party.

Sunnibased Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and traditional autocratic

militarist forces. They unification of the Islamist AKP and the nationalists meant

war against pro-democracy Kurds at home and war against Kurds outside the

Turkish borders.

when two bombs exploded, causing five civilians to be killed and 400 injured

and at the same time the isolation on Mr Ocalan has begun to increase. On

the one hand, the isolation upon Mr Ocalan began. On the other hand,

antagonism and aggressive attacks towards the Kurds in general, including

pro-democratic socialist activist groups and institutions, increased when 33

young socialist activists and students were killed as a result of a suicide bomb attack in Suruç on 20 th July 2015. It was proved that the IS bomber was
