8.3

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Lockton supports the studying for appropriate qualifications required by the regulatory bodies and in line with business strategy. Subject to local management approval the Company may fund the costs of the course and initial examination entry, re-sits being funded by the individual. Each application is considered on an individual basis by referral to the Manager and Associate Development. They will agree the suitability of the qualification and the method of study most appropriate.

The following categories or courses, although not definitive, will normally be considered for financial assistance: -

 Insurance qualifications

 Other professional bodies

 Business studies courses

The Company will reimburse the cost of professional membership subscriptions.

Insurance Qualifications

The Company actively encourages its Associates to pursue examinations of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) which include the following: -

Award in Insurance (FIT)

The Award in Insurance qualification is an introduction to insurance that helps develop an understanding of key insurance issues, including how the insurance market operates, fundamental risk and insurance principles and procedures and core personal and commercial insurance products.
