Criminal Investigations, Charges & Convictions*

You are under a contractual obligation to inform us immediately if, during your employment with LIGS Limited, you are the subject of any sort of criminal investigation, charge or conviction (this means being contacted by the police, or similar investigatory authority, about an offence, being interviewed by police, being remanded on police bail or any similar situation). You are under a contractual obligation to provide us with the full details of such investigations, charges or convictions (including the nature of the allegations against you) and to keep us informed of the progress of any such investigation or charge. Where a conviction results, you are under a contractual obligation to inform us of that fact and the nature of any sentence imposed (whether it be a caution, a fine, a custodial sentence or a non-custodial sentence etc.). Failure to inform us of any criminal investigation, charge or conviction against may be treated as a breach of contract and gross misconduct. Please note that you are not under an obligation to inform us of any non-custodial driving-related offences.

A criminal investigation, charge or conviction relating to conduct outside work may be treated as a disciplinary matter if we consider that it is relevant to your employment.

Where your conduct is the subject of a criminal investigation, charge or conviction we will investigate the facts before deciding whether to take formal disciplinary action.

We will not usually wait for the outcome of any prosecution before deciding what action, if any, to take. Where you are unable or have been advised not to attend a disciplinary hearing or say anything about a pending criminal matter, we may have to take a decision based on the available evidence.

Strengthening our Environment credentials

We were the first London Market Broker to achieve ISO 14001 – the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems. This is just one example of how Lockton wants to provide our services in the right way to our clients. Energy Use, Paper Use, Travel and waste have all reduced per associate as a consequence of Lockton changing and improving how it works. More information will be found on the Lockton Intranet with our CSR information. Associate’s suggestions on improving our environment position are always welcome and may be made via Bit by Bit or direct to the Head of Group Property.
