The theatres are closed during the three summer months, in Baster week from Wednesday to Saturdav, on Whitsunday and Christmas day. Otherwise perform- ances are given every evening and, as a rule, on Sun­ day afternoons (See adverts. in newspapers, the direc­ tory and telephone books, which also con tain seat- plans and prices. The Royal Theatre, Kongens Nytorv, drama, opera and ballet, 1600 seats. The open-air theatre in the Deer park, classical drama, plays. Season lasts about one montli as a rule 15th June — 15th July. Cinema theatres. There are about 80 picture theatres varying in size and arrangement. The largest are the Paladsteatret near Axeltorv, seating about 2000, and the Kinopalæet, GI. Kongevej, about 1200 seats. Bolh these theatres give one performance nigthlv and matinees on Sundays. Large orchestras. Of other large picture theatres may be named: A lexandra theatre, Nygade; Rialto Theatre, Smallegade 2 ;Aladdin theatre, Amagerbrogade 29; Colosseum, Jagtvej 65, all of which give two performances nightly and ah extra performance on Sunday afternoons. — At the others the performance is continuous from 2 p. m. to 10 p. m. Varieties and Cabarets.
